Welcome to our wedding blog. As you all know by now our big day will take place in Antalya on September 10th 2011.

On this page we want to keep you updated on our preperations and give you as much information as possible for your stay in Turkey. We are really looking forward to celebrate with all of you!

What to do in Antalya?

Antalya - with a population of around 800.000 people - is the largest Turkish city on the Mediterranean and a very popular holiday resort for tourists. We have tried to put together some nice places and trips in and around Antalya.

First of all, one should definitely head to the Roman Harbour in Antalya and its surrounding area - Kaleici - a historic zone with old houses and cobbled streets. It is also full of shops selling any touristy stuff you can think of.

Only about 10km from the city centre Yukari Düden Selalesi, the Upper Düden Falls - is a small park including a waterfall and cave, which makes a nice breakaway on a sunny and hot day.

Around 50km east of Antalya is Aspendos, housing the best preserved Roman theatre of the ancient world (Aspendos on Wikipedia). Aspendos is also the venue of a great Turkish Dance show - Fire of Anatolia. In September there will also be some shows, please check here for dates and tickets.

Around two hours south-west of Antalya is the ancient city of Olympos. Lying in a valley, surrounded by plants and trees and including a little river flowing towards the sea these ruins still hold some magic - especially as it is normally not frequented too much by bus loads full of tourists from the resorts in Antalya. A special recommendation from Ezgi is the small town of Kaş - 3-4 hours west of Antalya. Although this place is quite touristy it feels very comfortable and relaxing. In addition Kaş is a mekka for diving and other sport activities like Canoeing, Canyoning or Mountain Biking. (Kaş on Wikipedia)
